RED WING ROOTS MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Steel Wheels present the 8th annual Red Wing Roots Music Festival at Natural Chimneys Park in Mt Solon, VA. This 3-day festival, located in the heart of The Shenandoah Valley, takes place each July and features dozens of high-quality national and regional bands across multiple stages, as well as, outdoor activities, kids events, craft beer, fantastic food and fun for the whole family.
Along with The Steel Wheels, we are thrilled to welcome performing artists The Mavericks, Sarah Jarosz, Billy Strings, Asleep at the Wheel, Hiss Golden Messenger, Son Little, Tim O’Brien Band, Peter Rowan’s Free Mexican Airforce w/ Los Texmaniacs, Dustbowl Revival and many more to the Red Wing stages! Join us this summer, July 10th – 12th, and help us make Red Wing VIII a weekend to remember!

On-site camping is an extremely popular aspect of the festival. Organizers continue to make improvements to the multiple camping areas and campers are encouraged to reserve a site as soon as possible. New this year is glamping with Solid Ground Shelters!
We want the Red Wing Roots Music Festival to run as smoothly as possible and to provide a great experience for everyone involved. Our volunteers play a big part in helping to make that happen! We’d love to have you join us as a volunteer this July!
Red Wing is hosted annually at the Natural Chimneys Park in Mt. Solon, VA. We make the most of the great outdoors with organized yoga, biking, hiking, and running during the festival weekend. Additionally, the Shenandoah Valley boasts many fantastic opportunities for outdoor fun.
We’re proud to host Red Wing as a family-friendly experience. Shady Grove has games & activities for the whole family. Plus, at our Kinfolk Stage, you’ll always find great music, dancing and awesome presentations. Rest assured, kids AND parents are going to have a great time!
Blue Mountain Brewery and WNRN host the Blue Mountain Beer Gardens, pouring craft beers, hard cider and wine. In addition, Red Wing hosts a variety of fantastic food vendors and a free water station to help everyone stay hydrated throughout the summer festival.
