Z LOT CAMPGROUND — What you need to know!
ADDRESS: 94 Natural Chimneys Lane, Mount Solon, VA
CHECK-IN: Gate opens at 1pm on Thursday, July 7th.
Check-In ends at 8pm Thursday evening and will resume Friday morning at 10am.
ONE VEHICLE PER SITE. NO FIRES. NO PETS.
2 tents and 4 people max per site. 3-day General Admission tickets are required for all camping guests. Z Lot Camping is good for 4 nights (Thursday 1pm – Monday 10am). Once the festival begins on Friday, there will be limited access to drive into Z Lot. Basically, once you are in Z Lot, don’t leave!
WHEN YOU ARRIVE:
1) If parking your vehicle in Z Lot, drive to the Natural Chimneys Park entrance and check in at the main gate. You will be directed to the Z Lot, which is at the back of the park past the J-Loop camping area.
2) If you do not plan to park at your campsite, upon arrival park in the general admission parking lot ($10). Once parked, grab your gear and head to the main gate to check-in, get your bracelet and catch a shuttle to the Z lot.
3) Once you enter the Z Lot you will be directed to your site by Red Wing staff. The sites are first come, first serve.
GENERAL INFO: You will have approximately a 20′ x 20′ area beside your vehicle for primitive tent camping. Portable showers, port-a-johns, a Klean Kanteen drinking water station, and a solar phone charging station will be available for all to share.
NO INDIVIDUAL FIRES! We’ll have one community fire for all to share. Charcoal and propane grills are fine, however please use extreme caution.
RVs/TRAILERS: We have a designated flat area for all RVs and Trailers. Red Wing staff will direct you to this location and into your site. These are dry-RV sites (no electric/water hookups or dump station). Quiet, clean-running generators are allowed in this area ONLY. We will not have water available to fill your tank, so please arrive with your tank full. Also, please DO NOT dump grey water onto the ground! Natural Chimneys Park has a dump station near the main office, which you may use when leaving the park.
GENERATOR USE: We strongly encourage RV campers to turn off generators by Midnight each night in respect for neighboring tent campers. Red Wing staff reserves the right to shut down generators that are too loud at RW staff discretion.
QUIET CAMPING: A section of the campground will be reserved for people who prefer a quieter camping experience in the evenings. Campground volunteers and staff can point you in this direction. If you’re a lights-out-at-10 camper, please go here. If you want to howl at the moon or play guitar at 1 a.m., please DON’T camp here.
PARKING: One car per campsite. Extra cars can be parked in the general admission parking lot located by the front gate. You can purchase the $10 parking pass in advance or at the door. Golf cart shuttles will be available to help move people & gear to the Z Lot.
FIRES: There will be a large community fire for all to share. NO PERSONAL FIRES ALLOWED in Z Lot.
TRASH & ICE: Trash should be bagged and set on the outside edge of your campsite each morning for pickup. Ice is available for purchase at the Red Wing General Store, but also keep your eye out for the occasional Ice Cart rolling through Z Lot.
QUIET HOURS: Please observe quiet hours throughout the campground between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. each night. And please be considerate, respectful neighbors to other campers 24-7.
SHOWERS: Please keep showers to less than 5 minutes. Remember that we’re all in this together. Be sure to turn off all taps. Don’t waste water!
WHAT TO BRING: Clothing for all types of weather, rain and sun! Flash lights, trash bags, bug spray, sunscreen, and all your usual camping gear! Positive attitudes!
PLEASE RESPECT: Your camping neighbors, Mr. Zimmerman’s property (Z Lot), and our neighbors’ property. Do not wander beyond the Z Lot boundaries.
POOL: The pool will be open 10am-7pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fee is $2 for ages 6 & under and $3 for ages 7+.
The NO List: No Pets, firearms or weapons, golf carts, ATV’s, outside alcohol or individual fires.
Z LOT STAFF: Staff will be stationed on-site at the Z Lot gate 24/7.
